My Favorite Tyrant
Michael Mathews,
I hear you've resigned from your position as President of the Greeley-Evans District 666 Board of Education. Something tells me this is a deliberate step in a strategic plan to plant Natalie Mash right where they want her. I think she'll do just fine in her new role, as she regularly speaks out of turn like she's really the one running the show anyway. Her acting has improved over the years, and her mousy, docile facade has faded, allowing for her inner tyrant to shine.
In any case, I just wanted to reach out to tell you that you're still my favorite tyrant, mainly because it seems to pain you to carry out all the evil work you've been tasked with. While many of your colleagues on the school board and on other local government councils and committees seem to have embraced their reality, or at least come to terms with it, you still appear to hate every second of it.
So many politicians just boast and carry on about nonsense. You know the ones... they love to hear themselves talk. If only they knew how they sound to others, they may take more care to keep quiet.
The world is a stage, and all the voices seem to run together anymore. It must be embarrassing to have to spew this silly rhetoric for the public record. It's hard to believe people spend their valuable, short lives participating in all these scripted meetings, and voting in ways that harm their fellow humans. You almost have to wonder if some are even really human, at all.
Meanwhile, children are being harmed, by this very real situation in our community!
…and it is being ignored and covered-up. I do have to wonder why nobody seems interested in doing anything about it. Don't you find that peculiar? I'm inclined to believe that the size of the cover-up is indicative of the size of the operation.
All things will be revealed and while some people may escape earthly justice, there is no escaping God's righteous and just vengeance for the unrepentant. He will repay.
What I've come to understand is that this short little life we live in this earth is but a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. The afterlife is what really matters, and it's more real than this life. How we live this life in earth determines how we spend our eternity; not in the sense that our works determine where we will go, but that our beliefs either guide us in truth to our Heavenly Father, or in deception to the father of lies.
The real war is spiritual.
Sin is fun for a season, but it should be weighed against the cost. Surely our souls are more precious than diamonds in the darkness. The love of money just gets us in trouble. Power corrupts. Pride destroys. Indulgence is risky. And secrets like adultery, bestiality, and pedophilia are forever at risk of being exposed, enslaving their perpetrators for life, and into the afterlife too, for those who fail to repent.
Satan comes only to kill, steal and destroy. He has no loyalty to us, not even to his devout followers. In fact, he hates us. He is the great deceiver, and can entice us and entrap us with many promises and earthly gifts; but his gifts are not free, and his words are not true.
The Bible warns us to take no oaths, keep no secrets, avoid sorcery, and operate in righteousness. But that doesn't stop some from taking blood oaths to freemasonry, where the royal secret is a lie, and only revealed in the higher levels. Some choose to sell their souls or pledge allegiance to other counterfeits like witchcraft, occultism, or satanism.
And while our soul isn’t really ours to sell, as it belongs to our Creator, Satan can stake his claim to it if we're eating at his table, and he counts on our willing presence - our voluntary enslavement - our own sin. He doesn't want us to know that we can escape his captivity, call on Jesus, renounce these oaths, repent, and ask forgiveness from the Almighty God.
I hear hell is a hot, putrid smelling place, where we re-live every earthly experience we've ever regretted, with no chance to apologize or be forgiven, ever. It's darker than anything we can imagine, visually and spiritually. It's no party. Just extreme fear, torment, chaos, confusion, pain, agony, and regret. There's no fun to be had. No relief, no pleasure, no love, no light, no friendship, no sunshine, no rest, no food, no water, no mercy, no peace, no redemption, no hope, no option to call on God, and no end to the suffering.
I used to think that God sent people to hell. Now, I understand that it's God’s mercy, grace, and forgiveness that actually keep us out of hell. God wants all of His children with Him, and His rules, if obeyed, keep us close to Him, and out of the Devil's reach. It's Satan who takes us to hell, and we decide for ourselves to go there, when we reject God. Hell is real, and its many gates are wide open.
None of us deserve the grace, mercy, and forgiveness that God extends to us, but He is so good. No one is a lost cause in God's eyes. He is capable of reaching even the most wicked, and forgiving even the worst of sins. He can restore us, redeem us, and change our lives, hearts, minds, desires, and destiny. He can save our souls and make us new. He's no tyrant, though, so He never forces His will on us. We have to choose Him.
The path to Heaven is narrow, and the gate is small. The only way to Father God is through Jesus Christ. Fortunately for us, there are a million ways to Jesus.
The day will come when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. This confession must come while we are alive, if we wish to be saved. My prayer for you (and all the others) is that you will find Jesus, and come to know Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
I pray this in Jesus' precious Holy Name,
Amen
Luke 15:7: "There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent"
